As a special edition of the new Ultra 310X (formerly known as 300X), the $500 more expensive 2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310X SE stands out with an Ebony/Sunbeam Red colour scheme, aggressive graphics, and a new, specially bolstered sport seat.
Of course, the main thing to remember is that Kawasaki offers the most powerful personal watercraft on the market.

Discover the 2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310X SE
The 2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310X SE is powered by a 1,498cc, 4-stroke, inline 4-cylinder engine. Derived from the Ninja superbikes, this supercharged and intercooled unit now generates an industry-leading 306 hp (310 PS, hence the name) and 201 lb-ft of torque. Although the roots-type Eaton TVS supercharger is unchanged, reduced mechanical loss and friction help increase efficiency and achieve the 10hp bump over last year's model.
Other technical upgrades for 2014 include new cast pistons with a V-shaped groove, a thicker water jacket and two oil jets per cylinder instead of one (for superior cooling performance), a higher-pressure fuel pump, and a reshaped, heat-resistant plastic intake manifold delivering extra low- and mid-range power. Reliability is said to be improved, as well.
Driving a 160mm jet pump with a revised 3-blade impeller, the engine in the 2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310X SE also comes with a Fuel Economy Assistance Mode that provides even more savings than before, and makes the most of the best-in-class 78-litre tank. What's more, a special one-touch mode can be used in "No Wake" zones to maintain a forward speed of 8 km/h.
Meanwhile, the race-derived hull of the 2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310X SE gives you the ideal balance of strength and light weight. It's specifically designed to handle the enormous output from the supercharged engine, not to mention rough water conditions. Handling is additionally enhanced with Electric Trim Control, allowing easy riding style adjustments for the conditions you find yourself in.
2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310X SE features and amenities
There's a new, easy-to-read LCD screen that features a new face design and includes a fuel consumption indicator. The reshaped mirrors are optimally curved to provide a wider view of what's going on behind you. Elsewhere, the redesigned passenger handrail is slimmer up front (making it easier for riders to grip with their legs) and more ergonomic in the rear (improving passenger comfort).
As always, Kawasaki Smart Steering (KSS) can assist riders in learning to manoeuvre and negotiate corners, making turning easier and smoother. Furthermore, the Smart Learning Operation (SLO) mode gives them the choice between limited power for easier training or full power for maximum fun.
Seating for three, electronic cruise control, a 5-way adjustable handle, and 212 litres of storage will also attract potential buyers to the 2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310X SE. Don't forget the long re-boarding step that facilitates climbing aboard, and retracts when not in use.
The 2014 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310X SE starts at $17,999. Competitors include the Sea-Doo GTX Limited iS 260 and Yamaha FX SVHO.
